What is HTTPS(By Wikipedia)

Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) is an extension of the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP). By encryption, Https makes data transfer in a securer way. In HTTPS, the protocol is encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS) or, formerly, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). The protocol is therefore also referred to as HTTP over TLS or HTTP over SSL

Why is HTTPS

The principal motivations of HTTPS are Authentication of the access to website and protection of data privacy and integrity while it is in transit. HTTPS prevents website from having exchanged data broadcast, which could lead to information leakage. Furthermore, browsers nowadays will mark a website, that use HTTP instead of HTTPS as insecure.
